The Water Treatment Process

 The harmful bacteria in filtered water can cause very serious diseases such as typhoid, cholera, jaundice, dysentery etc. Bleaching powder or chlorine gas is added to the filtered water 

 First, the dust and other solid impurities in the water are left to settle down. Then, the settled impurities and let to flow out at the bottom, by opening a small gap. Then it is passed through beds of sand, charcoal and gravel to remove suspended impurities. After that water is passed through sand filter.
